A ROAD in a busy shopping district has been closed as firefighters tackle an office fire.
As many as two engines from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene in Bolton Road, Eastbourne this afternoon.
Firefighters were called at 2.21pm to a small fire above the former Laura Ashley store.
Four firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose to extinguish the blaze.

An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "There was a small fire above the former Laura Ashely store in second-floor offices.
"Four firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose to put it out.
"We were called at 2.12pm."
