SIR Cliff Richard is set to broadcast a live show at the Royal Albert Hall in celebration of his 80th birthday.

The Cliff Richard: The Great 80 Tour will be shown in cinemas on October 27.

Numerous venues in Sussex will be airing the performance, including the Odeon Brighton, Cineworld Brighton, Depot Lewes, Worthing’s Dome Cinema, Orion Cinema in Burgess Hill, Picture House in Uckfield and more.

A full list of shows can be found on at cliffincinemas.com.

The sold-out Royal Albert Hall will be broadcast to over 500 cinemas across the UK, streaming live via satellite from London.

The musician is set to perform a selection of his greatest hits after more than a year away from the stage.

The event was originally scheduled for 2020 to coincide with Sir Cliff’s 80th birthday but was delayed due to Covid-19.

The event will also feature exclusive footage of Sir Cliff, recorded especially for cinema audiences.

Speaking ahead of the event Sir Cliff highlighted his excitement at his return to the stage.

“This tour was sadly postponed from 2020 due to the pandemic and was due to be my 80th birthday celebration with my fans,” he said.

“To have the opportunity to reach an even wider audience in cinemas, and especially for those international fans still unable to travel to the tour venues, is a little nerve wracking, but hugely exciting!!”

“I shall begin the tour aged 80 and will be 81 when in cinemas – what a great way to celebrate.”

Spanning a 60-year career to date, Sir Cliff has been a part of over 100 albums and amassed several gold and platinum discs and awards, including two Ivor Novello Awards and three Brit Awards.

More than 130 of his singles, albums and EPs have reached the UK Top 20 - more than any other artist.

His previous tour Cliff Richard Live: 60th Anniversary Tour grossed over £1.1 million at the UK and Irish Box Office across one weekend in 2018.

The concert was broadcast into cinemas live from Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall.

Cliff Richard: The Great 80 Tour will be broadcast at 7:45pm on October 27.

Encore performances will be re-broadcast on October 30 and 31.
