BRIGHTON is the most LGBTQ+ friendly destination in the UK, according to a recent study.

According to a report by ParkSleepFly, the city beat Bristol and Manchester to place first in Britain.

Globally, Brighton narrowly missed out on a spot in the top three - placing fourth behind Lisbon, Porto in Portugal and Cologne in Germany.

Martin Jones, CEO at ParkSleepFly, said the bustling heart of the community in Kemp Town, its plethora of pubs and clubs and its Pride event - one of the largest in the UK, all saw Brighton score highly in the rankings.

He said: “Brighton is a city that is loud and very proud of its LGBTQ+ community.

“Despite the high chances of grey weather, the locals are ever welcoming and always in the mood to party.

“Brighton is arguably the UK’s gaycation destination of dreams.”

All of the top 10 destinations were from Europe - with the exception of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
