A WINDOW cleaning company has raised over £600 for a hospice by doing 100 free cleans.

Albion Window Cleaning wanted to go bigger and better than the fundraiser it ran in May last year so decided to double the number of cleans and extend them out to Worthing.

The company invited people to nominate themselves or someone deserving of a free clean and in return asked for a donation to Martlets hospice in Hove.

They cleaned 100 windows in one day around Brighton, Hove and Worthing.

The company, run by Pete Blakeney and Greg Grundy, wanted to raise money for the hospice because it cared for their relatives in the past.

Pete said it was a struggle doing all the windows in one day but worth it for all the positive responses they received.

He said: “We got a lot of good feedback and raised a lot of money on the day. It was a really good day.

“It was quite a knackering day to be honest, I think we under-estimated the cleans but apart from that it was all good.

“At first, it looked like we were going to struggle to get to the 100 but it went down really well.

"We have had a lot of messages from people saying thank you.”

Overall through donations online, in person and directly to the hospice, Pete said they raised more than £600.
