ALBION fans still revelling after Neal Maupay's last-minute equaliser have been poking fun at one angry Crystal Palace fan.

The French striker scored in the 96th minute at Selhurst Park to deny the Eagles victory in a fierce rival match.

However, a video taken by a Palace fan has captured the moment that they realised they would not be celebrating victory.

Joel Veltman played a long ball forward, and it was allowed to bounce through by the Palace defence and into the path of Maupay, who made no mistake with the finish.

In the fan footage, one fan can be heard shouting, "Why'd you let it bounce", it is true that if the defender Marc Guehi had been a bit more aggressive, he should have cleared the ball and stopped the inevitable equaliser.

The video has since been seen by Albion fans who have had some enjoyment in poking fun at the fan by making internet memes about the quote on social media.

Hundreds of Albion fans on Twitter have tweeted the quote as a jibe at their rivals, although some have been a bit more creative with their attempts at making the joke.

Joey, an Albion fan on Twitter, mocked up an image promoting a theatrical Louis Theroux documentary called "Why'd you let it bounce".

Another fan, Alfie James, whose Twitter handle is @AlfieJamesBN, redesigned the Crystal Palace emblem by replacing the club name with the words "Why'd you let it bounce."

Charlie Palethorpe, whose Twitter handle is @CPalethorpe, created a video that used musician Calvin Harris' song "Bounce" and edited it to include the celebrations of the players and the audio of the fan saying "why'd you let it" and the word "bounce" being edited in from the song.

Another Albion fan, Joe Blissett, posted an edited photo of Mario Balotelli's famous celebration against Manchester United where he held up his shirt to unveil the word "Why is it always me", but instead it had been replaced with the words "Why'd you let it bounce."

Even the official Twitter account for Brighton and Hove Albion joined in the fun with a tweet saying, "Why'd you let it bounce" with a thinking emoji and a picture of Maupay scoring the equalising goal.
