A COUNCIL is urging the public to join the team of tournament volunteers for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.

Part of the tournament will be played in the city next summer with three games, including a quarter-final, at the Amex.

There are different kinds of volunteering opportunities for people, including helping spectators to find their way around the city, working in the fan zone at Valley Gardens or at the stadium.

The council say volunteers will be an important part of the team - spreading the excitement, building the atmosphere, and generally providing a positive matchday experience for spectators.

People are encouraged to volunteer to gain and share their experience of the city, see the event from a different perspective, or simply to enjoy the feeling of playing your part and welcoming people to Brighton and Hove.

Councillor Martin Osborne said: “We’re really excited to be welcoming the UEFA Women’s Euros to the city next summer and welcome the many opportunities it will bring for our residents.

“Volunteering is a great way to be part of this unique event and to give the many spectators a warm welcome and an unforgettable experience in our city by the sea.”

Applications to be part of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 volunteer programme have now opened and close on November 1.
