A SERIAL flasher faces prison after a court heard he targeted female dog walkers which led to women fearing they would be attacked and raped.

Edwin Ronald Davies started talking to women at the beauty spot - only for them to realise midway through the conversation that he had his penis out.

During a three-year period, the scaffolder exposed himself multiple times in the Sheepcote Valley area, near East Brighton park.

The 33-year-old, who claims he was driven by sex addiction, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court where he was warned he could face a prison sentence.

Magistrates chair David Watkins said: "You said yourself you are having an addiction to this and having difficulty controlling it”.

Prosecutor Debbie Jones said Davies was a serial offender who approached women while they were walking their dogs.

He engaged with his victims in small talk before flashing them between October 2018 and September 2021.

She said: "A woman walking her dogs in the afternoon was approached by the defendant. He was walking his dog.

"He engaged the woman in conversation until she realised his penis was exposed out of his trousers.”

Another dog walker engaged in small talk with Davies as they walked through the park.

"When they reached her car, she noticed his penis was exposed," Ms Jones said.

"She felt uncomfortable, disgusted and she can't stop crying when she thinks about it.

"Another woman noticed his penis was outside of his waistband and thought she was going to be raped," Ms Jones said.

Women said they felt “disgusted” and feared getting hurt by “fiddling” Davies, with one woman saying she would never walk in the park again.

Davies, a scaffolder, admitted seven charges of exposing himself to women as they walked their dogs in the Sheepcote Valley area, near East Brighton park.

Davies, from Queensway, Brighton, handed himself into police after seeing a poster asking for information about a flasher exposing himself to women in the park.

He admitted indecent exposure and was remanded into custody ahead of a sentencing hearing later this month.

His sister and partner were in the public gallery and Davies said "sorry," as he was taken down.

Detective Inspector Donna Ward said: “We take all such reports seriously and our investigation is continuing. Anybody with information, or any victims who wish to report similar crimes, can report online or by calling 101.”
