A GIN company says it is “desperate” to have its delivery bike returned after it was stolen from a busy road.
Rachel Blake, who delivers orders for Brighton Gin, had her bike stolen outside a property in Dyke Road at some point between 6.15pm on Tuesday and midday today.
The bike is an old, green Post Office reclaimed bike, with Brighton Gin branding and large carrier attached to the front.
It is used by the company to delivery its orders of gin and gifts, as well as its own brand of hand sanitiser, which it started producing during the first lockdown.
Kathy Caton, who founded Brighton Gin in 2012, has appealed for help on social media in the hope the bike will become “too hot to handle” and will be returned to its owner.
Speaking to the Argus, Kathy said: “One of the reasons we're so gutted about it is it really feels like a kick for a company that's been so committed to zero-carbon deliveries, and that we've also been out on our pushbikes throughout the Covid crisis doing doorstep deliveries not only of gin but not-for-profit community-supporting hand sanitiser too.”

In a tweet, the company said a “gin-based reward” will be offered for its recovery.
Sussex Police is appealing for anyone will information which could locate the bike to contact police online or by calling 1010.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police received a report of a bicycle having been stolen from outside a property in Dyke Road, Brighton, at some point between 6.15pm on Tuesday and around midday on Wednesday.
“It is described as being an old, green Post Office reclaimed bike with Brighton Gin branding and a large bucket-type carrier on the front.
“Anybody who has any information which could locate the bike can contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 0491.”
