A CANNABIS factory with more than 80 plants was discovered after police were originally called to a burglary.

Police initially responded after reports of a burglary at an address in Sackville Road, Hove, at 8.25pm on Thursday, October 7.

Police arrived to find a man outside the property who had suffered minor injuries, before entering the building to investigate.

A search of the flat discovered around 80 cannabis plants, as well as equipment used for the cultivation of cannabis.

The 42-year-old man, from Hove, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a controlled class B drug - cannabis.

He remains in custody at this time.

An investigation into the circumstances around the burglary are ongoing.

Police say they would like to speak to anybody who witnessed anything suspicious in the area on Thursday evening.
