A MAN has been left with a “life changing” eye injury and multiple facial fractures following an assault outside a social club.
The victim, a 39-year-old local man, reported leaving a convenience store in Crowborough Hill at around 7.15pm on Friday when he was approached by a man near Jarvis Brook Social Club.
Police say he was then subjected to a “sustained assault”, suffering multiple facial fractures and a potentially life-changing eye injury.
A 26-year-old man from Crowborough has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Anybody who witnessed the assault, including members of the public understood to have filmed it on their mobile phones, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1002 of 09/10.
