A MAN in his fifties has been arrested following a stabbing in the centre of Brighton.

Emergency services were called to Beaconsfield Road at around 1pm yesterday, with a man suffering a wound to his shoulder taken to hospital.

The suspect was later stopped in his car and arrested on suspicion of inflicting GBH.

His passenger in the vehicle, a man in his thirties, was arrested on suspicion of being in possession with intent to supply after Class A and Class B drugs were found.

Both men remain in custody and enquiries by police continue.
