A NEW independent pet shop dedicated to pampered pooches and fashionable felines is to open in the city centre.

Creature Clothes has announced it is to open its first store in Bond Street, Brighton later this year.

The building had been home to independent boutique Beretun Designs for ten years until the shop closed in July.

Creature Clothes, which operates as an online store, sells a variety of products for dogs and cats, as well as their owners.

In a post on Instagram, founder Cosima Pole said that after 22 years of making products for other stores, now was the time to open her very own shop.

She wrote: “I cannot wait to start creating more fun things for you and your cats and dogs.

“My head is literally burst with ideas. It must be the sea air. Brighton has always been very good to me and Creature Clothes.

“I have very dear friends here and supplied wonderful stores here when I first started wholesaling all those moons ago.

“It is such an inspirational city. And you really can’t beat going for s swim in the sea with your dogs after work and school.

“My family and I are so excited to be on our big Brighton adventure alongside creature clothes.”

An opening date for the shop has not been confirmed, but Cosima said the team have been working for the last few weeks to get the store ready.

The shop will sell a variety of pet products including handmade collars, beds and blankets, bandanas and treat pouches.

Human customers will also be able to treat themselves to a bit of retail therapy, with face coverings, belts, key tags and bean bags also on offer.
