REPLACEMENT bus services will be in use during a week of major railway disruptions.

Buses will replace trains between Battle and Hastings, as well as Tunbridge Wells and Battle, until Friday October 29.

The closure is while the railway cutting at Wadhurst is reinforced to help prevent future landslips taking place.

Tickets will be accepted with no additional costs on the following routes:

• Southeastern Highspeed services between Ashford and London St Pancras (please be aware these services are expected to be very busy at peak times)

• Southeastern services between Ashford and London via Tonbridge

Southern Rail services between:

• St Leonards Warrior Square, Hastings and Ashford (for connection to Southeastern services to London)

• St Leonards Warrior Square, Hastings and London (via Lewes)

Passengers from Stonegate, Wadhurst and Frant can use the Southern Rail route from Uckfield to London at no extra cost.

However, customers are urged to check before they travel as this is a low frequency service outside peak time.

In terms of parking, Hastings line passengers with current car park season tickets can use the Priory Road car park at Tonbridge Station at no extra cost during the work.

Southeastern car park season ticket holders can park at Crowborough and Eridge stations at no extra cost.
