CHRIS Eubank Jr is standing by his offer to match the winning bid on a signed microwave - donating the money to charity.

A microwave signed by the Hove-born athlete is selling for tens of thousands of pounds on Ebay.

He signed the microwave outside a hotel in Newcastle ahead of his recent fight with Wanik Awdijan.

The 32-year-old was swarmed by fans asking for pictures, before he was approached by a man holding a microwave, which he wanted the boxer to sign.

A video of the encounter has since gone viral on social media.

The microwave is now being auctioned on Ebay – with a current bid of £66,000.

The original listing was taken down last week, but has since been put back up with an end date of 5.44pm on Monday, October 25.

The current listing has 47 bids, while the previous had more than 100.

In an act of goodwill, Chris announced he will match the winning bid and give the money to charity.

The boxer tweeted: “The Ebay microwave auction ends today. Whoever wins email contact@chriseubankjr.com with proof of payment & we can then discuss the charity I donate to. Good luck.”

He added: “No idea why the listing was taken down this morning but it’s back up now… unfortunately all the bids have been reset. Let’s try this one more time… for charity. And yes I’m still going to match the winning bid.”

The microwave, which has been listed by an account named elipatterson01, had a starting bid of £50.

Chris, the former IBO super-middleweight and WBA interim middleweight champion, forced Germany’s Wanik Awdijan to retire before the sixth round of his most recent fight.

It was Chris’s 31st win in his 33rd professional contest and a first bout since May.
