A POPULAR jazz festival is set to return after a two-year hiatus.

Love Supreme Jazz Festival is due to take place at Glynde Place, near Lewes, from July 1 to 3 2022.

Singer-songwriter Erykah Badu has been announced as the first headliner of the three-day music festival.

The Saturday night slot at Love Supreme will be the American’s only UK performance of 2022 and will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of her debut album Baduizm.

The performance will be the Grammy Award winning singers first UK show in over three years.

Love Supreme, Europe’s biggest greenfield jazz festival, has been called off for the previous two years due to Covid-19.

Following a two-year hiatus, Love Supreme festival director Ciro Romano said: “We couldn’t be happier to be announcing Erykah Badu, a true innovator and undoubtedly one of the most exciting performers of her generation, as the first artist confirmed for Love Supreme 2022.

“We have many more big-name announcements planned over the coming weeks and we look forward to welcoming our Love Supreme family back to the South Downs next summer.”

More musical acts are due to be announced in the coming weeks.

Ticket prices start at £63 and are due to go on sale on Friday, October 29.

The release will include day, weekend, camping, supremium and glamping tickets.
