A MAN has appeared at court accused of double attempted murder after two men were stabbed.

Ali Bhatti spoke only to confirm his identity before magistrates in Crawley.

The court heard he is accused of stabbing two men at a roundabout in the town on Friday night.

Police were called to reports of a man with a weapon in Horsham Road at around 7.40pm.

One victim remains in hospital in a stable condition and the second victim has been discharged, police said.

Detective Inspector Jason Hazzard said: "I’d like to thank the members of the public who have been in touch to support our investigation so far, and to the wider community for their patience while we responded to this incident.

“We continue to ask for anyone who saw what happened to come forward, particularly anyone who has any relevant mobile phone or dash cam footage.”

The unemployed 32-year-old was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at crown court on November 22.
