NESSIE has been spotted...in a village. The Loch Ness Monster was one of the scores of entries in this year's Ferring Scarecrow Festival, held to mark Halloween.
More than 70 characters popped up in front gardens around the village, with people vying for an award for the best.
The theme this year was "just to have fun and enjoy the experience" and so the entries were diverse.
They included Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, a circus clown and a Royal Mail postman.
People who followed the trail had to collect letters to form two words and post entries to the draw at Rassasy Deli and Farm Shop in Ferring Street, Ferring.
The trail ran until Saturday and helped raise money for Ferring Country Centre, a charity for people with learning disabilities, providing them with meaningful training and work experience.
The money will be used to refurbish the educational spaces and develop two classrooms in the centre.
