AN ELECTRIC bike was stolen from the driveway of a home - and a man was caught on CCTV performing tricks on it.

Officers have released a series of photographs after the incident, where the owner of the e-bike chased two thieves before they got away.

CCTV footage later showed a man, matching the description of one of the suspects, performing tricks on the e-bike near a railway station.

Police are appealing for help identifying him following the theft from Harbour Way, Shoreham.

The e-bike, made by German manufacturer Haibike, was taken by two men.

Footage from a doorbell camera showing them cutting a lock at around 12.23pm on October 15.

The owner of the e-bike pursued thieves as far as the footbridge over the River Adur before they managed to escape.

Officers later found CCTV of a young man riding the e-bike near the railway station in Shoreham.

The man was seen performing tricks before forcing the e-bike through a security barrier to enter the station.

He is white, either in his teens or early 20s and has dark hair.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit top with a black baseball cap and had a backpack.

Police have also released a photograph of the stolen e-bike, which is green and black.

Anyone who recognises the man or who has information about the theft is asked to report it to Sussex Police online or call 101, quoting serial 586 of 15/10.
