ARMY bomb disposal experts were called to a mansion in a market town.

People in Wadhurst reported seeing a massive police and army response on Friday night to a suspect package.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services responded to a report of a suspicious package delivered to a private address in rural Wadhurst on Friday evening (November 19).

"The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) was called in to carry out an assessment, and in conclusion there was no indication of anything suspicious.

"As a precaution, the item was seized for destruction."
