A MAN has been arrested after two people were racially abused and attacked in front of their young children.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the suspected assault, which happened in a car park Marsden Road, Eastbourne opposite a children’s nursery on Thursday.
Officers say the incident took place following a parking dispute.
A 56-year-old man from Eastbourne has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Jason Hoadley said: “Racial abuse has absolutely no place in our society and any reports will be taken extremely seriously.
“Our officers are investigating this incident and would ask anybody who witnessed it or can offer any information to contact police online, or by calling 101, quoting serial 905 of 18/11.”
