THREE teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault following reports of a homophobic attack at a gay cruising spot.

Two men were assaulted at Dukes Mound and on the nearby beach in Brighton, with one needing hospital treatment for minor injuries.

Gay men are known to meet up in the Dukes Mound area for sex and, following the incident, a warning was posted on a hook-up app.

The message, which was passed on to the Argus, said: "If you see two or three guys walking around with their heads up in a group with masks or balaclavas on, get the f*** out of there."

Police were alerted to the incident just after midnight on November 21.

A 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys have been arrested, with officers urging people with information to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called just after midnight on Sunday, November 21 following a report of a homophobic assaults against two men in Dukes Mound and on the nearby beach at Brighton.

"One of the men was taken to hospital with minor injuries. A 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault."
