A FINANCIAL services provider has announced three new charity partners to help young people in various different circumstances get started in life.
Brighton based One Family has announced new charity partnerships that will help young people across the city.
The financial services company will provide £10,000 of funding annually to each charity along with support through employee volunteering, mentoring and the sharing of skills, networks and experience.
The charities that will be benefitting are Spear Brighton Trust which helps unemployed young people, Team Domenica which helps those with learning disabilities to remove barriers to work in communities, and The Clock Tower Sanctuary which supports young homeless people.
Teddy Nyahasha, the CEO of One Family said: “As a mutual, supporting our local community is very important to us and has been a key focus of ours for many years.
"So, we’re looking forward to working with our new charity partners from across the city to help them to continue to do their crucial work at a time when the services they provide are more important than ever.
“But it’s not just about handing money over and believing that the job is done. Our long-term commitment means that, as active partners, we’ll also be investing time and practical support that we hope will make a real impact to the lives of others.”
The Clock Tower Sanctuary works with young homeless people to give them space, support and stability. It provides a space for 16 to 25-year-olds who are homeless so they can feel safe whilst also getting access to services and support.
One Family is supporting the charity’s Towards Stability project, which is designed for clients who are ready to move into housing and are looking to find work or training.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen by the team at One Family as a charity partner and are grateful for the financial contribution towards our work which helps young people to move out of homelessness and into more stable futures.”
Spear Brighton Trust helps young people facing barriers to employment by focusing on the key issues that help them to succeed in work - attitude, confidence and qualifications.
One Family will be supporting The Spear Programme, as well as helping the charity with funding, One Family aims to make a direct, tangible impact through sharing its skills, networks and experience.
Trustee of Spear Brighton Trust, Pippa Satchwell Smith said: “We are so excited to be partnering with One Family over the next few years.
"Their support comes at such a critical time with young people one of the hardest hit from the coronavirus pandemic increasingly bearing the brunt of the unemployment crisis.
"Spear Brighton works with young people with real potential facing social and personal barriers to employment.
"With One Family's support we can equip and support 16 to 24-year-olds who are not in education, employment, or training to overcome these difficulties and sustain employment or education.
“One Family is not only supporting us financially but will also offer essential in-kind support through employees’ time and skills, for example in our mock interview and career panel sessions with the young trainees, as well as potential work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for our graduates.
"Partnerships with local businesses such as One Family are so pivotal to impact of our programme as we aim to transform the lives of those young people we support.”
Team Domenica is a social enterprise charity, its mission is to help people with learning disabilities "discover their career potential", to create employment opportunities and to remove barriers to work in local communities.
One Family will work with Team Domenica to help to raise its profile in the community and provide funding to support its employment centre, which provides additional work experience, internships and employment opportunities.
Founder and chairman of Team Domenica, Rosa Monckton said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as a One Family charity partner.
"It’s tough for young people with learning disabilities to find work and their place in society. It’s even harder for them to keep hold of employment without support.
“This generous donation from One Family will be transformational to our Wrap Around Programme – the service that ensures that our candidates and our partnered employers are supported for life.
"With the expansion of this service, we can be certain that our candidates will retain their hard-earned paid work.”
