A RAILWAY line has been temporarily closed while police continue to search for the body of a missing mother.
A section of railway track in Westfield, near Hastings, is being searched by police in connection with a murder investigation after the disappearance of Alexandra Morgan.
The 34-year-old has not been seen since Remembrance Sunday.
A man from St Leonards has been charged with her murder, although her body has not yet been found.
Mark Brown, of Squirrel Close, appeared at Lewes Crown Court in connection with her disappearance earlier this week.
On Friday, Kent Police confirmed enquiries to locate Alexandra’s body remain ongoing across several sites in Sussex and Kent.
“Officers are also searching a section of railway track close to Westfield, Hastings as part of their investigation,” a police spokesman said.
Police previously searched a property in Rock Lane in Hastings.
Officers wearing forensic suits, gloves and masks were photographed at the scene, with more than a dozen police vehicles on site.
She was last seen at a petrol station near her home on November 14.
Police previously searched other sites in the Hastings and St Leonards area.
