TODAY marks the first weekend where families can make use of Brighton and Hove Buses’ offer where children can ride for free every weekend in December.

Up to three children can make use of the offer when accompanied by a fare paying adult, with the bus company encouraging people to avoid the “stress” of driving and parking in the middle of town over Christmas.

The offer, which the bus company runs every year, is to encourage families to visit Brighton’s festive amenities such as ice skating at the Pavilion, Christmas shopping or visiting the city’s Christmas market.

A Brighton and Hove Buses spokesman said: “Let us take the strain this year and hop on a bus with you family. You can travel with up to three children aged under 16 or busID holders when accompanied by a fare paying adult.

“You’ll also be doing your bit for the environment too. It’s just a little Christmas present from us.”

The offer is valid every weekend of December but not Christmas day.

Here are the dates:

• December 4/5

• December 11/12

• December 18/19

• December 26 (revised timetable)
