A ONE-WOMAN comedy Christmas show is coming to town.

Bag Lady’s Christmas Present is due to take to the stage at the New Venture Theatre in Brighton from December 10 to 18.

The family-friendly show will see Bag Lady, played by Sara Davies, take the audience on a journey of Christmas stories of old and new festive sketches and songs.

There will be nine performances of the show – including two on Saturday, December 18.

The show was created from the imagination of Sara during lockdown Zoom calls with directors Brenda Bishop and David Tutton.

It was then further developed through workshops at the New Venture Theatre and a number of street performances in Brighton.

The performance incorporates elements of clowning in the tradition of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy, as well as miming.

Sarah's theatrical career began with teaching drama to teenagers, which grew into her own training journey across the world with different practitioners in the art of performance.

Her clowning career began in 2008 on a trip to Italy where she studied with an international group and has continued ever since working with a range of clown-inspired crafts-folk, including Nose-to-Nose, Holly Stoppitt and David and B.
