THERE is a heavy emergency services presence at an incident on the seafront.

Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS), as well as officers from Sussex Police and the ambulance service, are responding to an incident near the Melrose restaurant on Kings Road, Brighton.

Video from the scene shows a dozen firefighters outside the seafood restaurant.

Police cars appear be preventing traffic travelling along the A259.

A spokeswoman for ESFRS said: "We were called at 14:12 to attend a fire at a residential property on Kings Road, Brighton

"No persons reported and crews are currently working on extinguishing the fire. 

"We are asking the public to please avoid the area as road closures will be in place.
