THESE pictures show a huge emergency response after a fire broke out in a seafront property.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were called to building in Kings Road, Brighton just after 2pm this afternoon.
Video from the scene showed fire fighters running into the Melrose seafront restaurant.
Dozens of emergency service vehicles, including from Sussex Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, are in attendance.
Masked police officers can be seen working alongside fire fighters.
Pictures taken at the scene show the scale of the response as crews work to secure the building.
The A259 eastbound remains closed from Regency Square to Little Preston Street.
Buses are currently being diverted along Western Road.
A spokesman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service as advises people to avoid the area.

She said: “We were called at 14:12 to attend a fire at a residential property on Kings Road, Brighton.
“We currently have crews from Preston Circus, Roedean, Newhaven, Seaford and Bexhill on scene with support from West Sussex Fire and Rescue.
“No persons reported and crews are currently working on extinguishing the fire.
"We are asking the public to please avoid the area as road closures will be in place.”
