A KITCHEN appliance company has bagged an important title at a national awards ceremony.

The Funky Appliance Company's Funky Toaster won the Best New Product Small Domestic Appliances category at the ERT Awards 2021.

The awards, which is now in its 15th year, take place annually and celebrate achievements in the electrical retail sector.

Based in West Sussex, The Funky Appliance Company, was crowned winner of the coveted category, fighting off competition from Morphy Richards, Dualit, Hoover, Beko and Roidmi.

The company was co-founded by husband-and-wife team Joe and Sadie Sillett, and takes small domestic appliances and applies a "funky" twist to them.

Joe Sillett, co-founder and CEO of The Funky Appliance Company, said: "Winning this ERT 2021 award was a momentous day for our business and means that 2022 will now be even more exciting.

"We cannot wait to see sales in Funky Toasters increase significantly and for new customers of our Funky Toaster to love the product as much as existing customers do."

The company has three core products: a Funky Kettle, a Funky Iron, and the Funky Toaster, which launched in Feburary this year.

The four-slice toaster features slots that are wider and deeper than most toasters on the market, and it's "funky" features include its signature curved design.

Other accolades The Funky Toaster also has include Good Housekeeping Approved, Ideal Home Magazine's Best 4-Slice Toaster and the Independent's Indy Best Best Toaster for Tall Bread.
