THREE people have been arrested in connection with the thefts of more than 20 Range Rovers and Land Rovers.

The expensive vehicles were reported stolen over the last 18 months from properties across Sussex, predominantly in Arun and Worthing.

Police say they believe the thefts were committed by the same group.

The vehicles are believed to have been stolen through keyless thefts.

In December last year, three men from Littlehampton, aged 27, 31 and 33, were arrested.

All three men remain released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

A further three people have been arrested on Monday following search warrants at a number of addresses in Littlehampton.

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and eight counts of theft of a motor vehicle. He has been released on conditional bail until January 18.
  • A 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, four counts of theft of a motor vehicle. She has been released under investigation.
  • A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and theft of a motor vehicle. He has been released on conditional bail until January 10.

All three are from Littlehampton.

Police are still appealing for information as their investigation continues.
