A FREELANCE photographer has put together a 2022 calendar with stunning images of his home town.

Kieran Cleeves, 29, has collated some of the many pictures he has taken of Worthing over the last two years.

He developed a love for photography while working in media at Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.

He had completed a sports journalism degree and had always hoped for a job in the industry. He later decided to leave his role at the club and pursue photography as a freelancer.

He said: "I think people were a bit shocked because it was my 'dream job' but it's what I really wanted to do.

"While I was there I found I enjoyed photography the most out of everything.

"I didn't have any equipment or anything, I was just starting from scratch but I was determined."

He began working for a small sports agency and covered football matches across the country to build his portfolio, which led to him building a relationship with the firm Canon, which gave him equipment.

When sports matches stopped due to the pandemic, Kieran decided to take his camera out around Worthing.

He said: “I regularly took my camera out and started shooting anything and everything.

“In May I photographed a Spitfire flying over a care home in Worthing and got my picture on the front page of the Daily Mail the next day.

"That was a big thing for me to see that on the front page of a national paper."

Kieran said the town provided a great landscape and he was able to expand his skills.

He began posting his photos on social media but wanted to do something more with them.

He said: "The year before I'd done a similar calendar but this year I had all the nice photos of Worthing so thought I could gear a 2022 calendar towards that.

"When I heard about the Level 1 Christmas market I thought it was a good opportunity to sell it."
