ARMED police and emergency services are on the scene of a "major incident" this afternoon.

Sussex Police have closed Brasslands Drive in Portslade following unconfirmed reports that a person has been "sprayed with an unknown substance".

Dog units have been seen attending the incident in Flint Close, Portslade.

A passerby described it as a "major incident".

A dim unit is on the site and is used to detect a range of chemicals to establish what the person has been sprayed with.

Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire and Rescue and South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
