A BRIGHTON and Hove Albion player arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released under investigation.
The player, in his 20s, was held by police after an incident at a seafront nightclub.
A second man arrested with him has had police bail extended till the end of the month.
The player was arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted on October 6 this year at The Arch, in Kings Road, Brighton.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said a man in his 20s has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The Sussex Police spokesman said: "A man in his 40s from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has had his conditional bail extended until January 27th.
"A man in his 20s, also from Brighton, who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released under investigation while enquiries continue. No further information is available at this time."
