A MAN has been jailed for assaulting two immigration centre officers in an unprovoked attack.
Morteza Ahmadi was sentenced to a total of 16 weeks for assaulting Brook House officers Victoria Fisher and Reece Grace on November 21, 2020.
He admitted assault by beating.
The 28-year-old also admitted trying to damage a £500 camera at the Brook House site at Gatwick a week earlier and was given a two-week jail sentence to run concurrently.
Ahmadi, of Brook House, Gatwick, who is from Afghanistan, will also have to pay £500 compensation.
Brighton magistrates said the 16-week prison sentence was due to the serious and unprovoked nature of the assaults.
