THREE people have been airlifted to safety after getting cut off by the tide.
Newhaven, Birling Gap and Eastbourne Coastguard crews were called to search the Seven Sisters cliffs after three people were cut off by the tide on Saturday.
The group were located and winched to safety by the coastguard rescue helicopter.

A Newhaven Coastguard spokesman said: “When exploring the beaches always check local tide times, and let someone know where you are and expected arrival time back.”
Newhaven RNLI were also tasked with assisting in the operation.
Earlier this week, the Newhaven Coastguard assisted in the rescue of a person in the water at West Beach, Newhaven.
Alongside Brighton RNLI, police and ambulance, the person was recovered to the shore and treated for exposure to cold.
They were subsequently treated by ambulance staff.
The incident happened on January 5.
