LAST year prime minister Johnson said there was to be no more houses built on greenfield sites which was very good news.

But after a quick look around Sussex I can see that there are several large projects on the table for example there’s the three thousand five hundred houses planned for Bucks Barn then there’s three thousand houses planned at East Chiltington over at Tangmere.

Then one thousand three hundred houses already have planning permission here in Worthing.

West Durrington is planned to have hundreds more houses taking right up to the A27 and yet there is plenty of space to build homes in the town and two sites come to mind at once and they are Teville Gate and Lyndhurst Road.

Together we could put over five hundred homes there and in Brighton and Hove there will be plans to build a new estate at Toad's Hole Valley. There are of course many more sites across Sussex.

So what can we do to look after our fantastic county?

I believe we need more of our countryside and villages protected. Naturally we would look to local councils to start the ball rolling. We the people can help and here people across the county can work together to ensure Sussex is better looked after not just for us but for future generations.
