A BUS has broken down and is blocking a lane causing severe delays on the A27.
The incident, which happened at 6.20am, was causing delays of an hour with tailbacks going back five miles as traffic merged into one lane past the bus.
The bus is broken down on lane one of the A27 Eastbound between Emsworth Services and the A259 Cathedral Way by Fishbourne Roundabout. The incident happened two miles outside of Chichester.
Rush hour traffic is making the delays worse, with many people are using the A259 as an alternative.
Police are at the scene and recovery arrived at 7.30am.
One lane was closed by police officers. The traffic is now easing with delays of around 10 minutes.
