A MAN was taken to hospital with a serious but non-life threatening injury following an assault outside a nightclub.

Police were called to the scene outside the Broadway Nightclub in High Street in Uckfield just before 3am on January 9, after reports that three men had attacked two men.

An officer performed first aid on a 29-year-old man, who was taken to hospital with a suspected leg injury, while a 49-year-old man sustained a fractured eye socket.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for witnesses, with anyone with information which could help officers with their investigation asked to contact police online or call 101, quoting serial 132 of 09/01.
