A YELLOW weather warning has been issued this morning with drivers urged to take care.
The warning was issued just after 4am this morning and will be slow to clear in places, according to the Met Office.
The fog warning has been issued until 11am and could bring some travel disruption, with visibility to be less than 100 metres in some places and fog to last until the afternoon in some areas too.
The Met Office says to expect slow journey times with delays to bus and train services possible. Driving conditions could be difficult with “rapid changes to the visibility along routes possible”.
There is also a chance of delays or cancellations to flights.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Areas of fog have formed in low lying areas over southern England and northwards into parts of the West Midlands.
“These are likely to be dense in places with the visibility falling to less than 100 m. Fog will gradually lift and clear through the morning though a few small patches may persist into the afternoon.”
