A MOTORCYCLIST has been left with "serious injuries" after a crash this morning which led to a road being closed.

The incident happened just after 6am this morning and caused delays stretching three miles while emergency services responded.

The crash was between the Washington roundabout in Storrington Road, Pulborough and London Road.

Queues were around three miles long at one point with delays of 30 minutes while the road was closed.

Traffic now appears to have cleared.

Police responded to the incident at 6.18am this morning.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Just before 6.18am on Thursday (13 January) police responded to a collision between a car and motorcycle near to the Washington Roundabout in Storrington Road, Pulborough.

"The road is closed while emergency services attend the scene. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries.

"Anyone with information which could help officers with their enquiries is asked to report it online or call 101 quoting serial number 152 of 13/01."
