MUSICIAN Midge Ure has postponed his UK tour due to Covid-19.

The singer-songwriter was due to perform at the Theatre Royal in Brighton on Sunday, March 27.

A new date is yet to new confirmed but organisers said it will be in 2023.

In a video message to fans, Midge Ure said: “I’ve just been given the news that none of us wanted to hear.

“The Voice And Visions Tour is going to be postponed until 2023 due to the massive surge in the Omicron variant.

“You guys have been unbelievably patient waiting all this time for this tour to happen after the last postponement, and I thank you for that.

“I feel dreadfully sorry not just for you guys, but for my musicians and crew who haven’t worked for nearly two years.

“Some of the touring party are vulnerable. We have to keep them safe, and we have to keep you safe.

“If you can, please hang on to your tickets.

“We can only do what science tells us, which is to keep each other safe.”

New dates for the shows in Brighton, Torquay, Aylesbury, Bath, York, Sheffield and Stockton will be announced soon.

The shows scheduled for autumn 2022 are not affected.
