THIS is the moment a hooded knifeman was caught on camera prowling the city while horrified onlookers watched on.

Shocking footage shared on TikTok shows the moment the man, appearing to hold a blade, walked the streets of Kemp Town, Brighton.

The video, which has been watched hundreds of times, praises the quick response of Sussex Police to disarm the man.

Stunned users were quick to react to the footage, filmed last year, with some labelling the knifeman a "nutter".

TikTok user @cooper8788 said: "People knock England so much!

"This doesn’t happen everywhere here, there are many beautiful, very respectable areas with decent people."

User @shinette0_0_7 added: "What an absolute nutter!"

While @declansimon said: "Man wandering the streets with that knife like it’s the purge."

The viral video is not the first to have been shot in Brighton.

Another TikTok clip captured what happened after an Asda delivery vehicle hit a bridge near The Keep in Woollards Way, Brighton.

More than 3 million people have watched footage of the blunder, which was shared on the social media website.

The 12-second clip, posted by a user called Chaosreignz, shows the extent of the damage, with the van mangled by the force of the collision.
