Fire service rescue deer trapped in football netting in Sussex

Teams from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Scaynes Hill in Lindfield this afternoon, after receiving reports of a trapped deer.

Photos from the scene show the animal had netting tangled around his antlers.

This afternoon @WSFRS_TRU were called to rescue a deer in a spot of bother at Scaynes Hill.

The crew from the tactical rescue unit used small gear to get the deer back to his feet and set him free.

A spokesman for the service said: “Oh dear. This afternoon @WSFRS_TRU were called to rescue a deer in a spot of bother at Scaynes Hill.
