How can our council who constantly tell us they cannot provide this service or that service because of the cuts to local council funding by the government suddenly find nearly £7 million to do away with a roundabout which has never been an issue (The Argus, Valley Gardens final phase)?

This is based on the £13 million predicted cost with only £6 million coming from a government grant.

I would like to see the results of the consultation on this and wonder how people would have responded if one of the questions had been "would you

rather spend £7 million on a new road scheme or £7 million reinstating one of the many services cut by the council?".

I am pretty sure if this question was included the final phase of Valley Gardens would not be going ahead.

A local council should be focusing on the immediate issues which give the majority of its residents the most satisfaction
