A POPULAR restaurant has launched its new menu, which includes a complimentary book, love letter themed cocktails and dessert.

The Ivy In The Lanes, Brighton, has joined forces with Letters of Note to give diners a gift to treasure forever this Valentine’s Day.

"Love" is an exclusive book compiled by Shaun Usher, featuring a collection of love letters written in history, reimagined by The Ivy Collection with a bespoke cover and foreword.

The book will be offered to all guests who book a table in the restaurant on Valentine's Day.

Limited-edition cocktails and a dessert have also been added to the menu from Friday, February 11 to Monday, February 14.

The trio of cocktails were created to honour some of the world’s most famous love letters from history.

From Napoleon to Joséphine is £9.75, a sparkling serve featuring Altos Tequila Blanco, passion fruit and a splash of Prosecco.

The Oscar Wilde's Secret Affair costs £9.50, incorporating Beefeater Gin, lemon juice and agave syrup.

His Immortal Beloved cocktail, is £9.75, and is inspired by Beethoven consisting of coffee liqueur, double cream and Amaretto.

The cocktails are avasilable alongside Pillow Talk, which costs £17.95. It is an indulgent sharing dessert featuring peach and raspberry parfait, white chocolate mousse, popping candy and a raspberry sauce.

Since its original London establishment opened in 1917 in the West End, The Ivy has cemented its reputation as a plush hangout for actors and celebrities.

The chain came to Ship Street, Brighton, in 2018 and has become a popular venue for an upmarket night in the city.
