KATIE Price has opened up about her ongoing battle with depression.

The Brighton-born former glamour model underwent treatment at The Priory last year after her drink-driving crash.

During an episode of her new Channel 4 show Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion, the 43-year-old said she just wanted to “curl up on the sofa and sleep”.

She went on to explain how her horses had helped her in recovery.

“You can have a really s*** day and then you can come to the stables and just switch off. I suppose it’s like when people go to the gym and stuff, for me being around horses, I just love it,” she said.

“I know that I am better because I am back wanting to do the horses and get back into it. It’s sad because there was a time I wasn’t doing anything, I didn’t have the energy mentally.

“When you are in a depression, you can’t be bothered to do anything. I couldn’t be bothered to walk to the stable and even pat the horses.

“I would look out my kitchen window and be like ‘should I just go down, and think I can’t be bothered and just curl up on the sofa and want to sleep. That’s how bad I was.”

Katie reportedly landed a £45,000 payday for the TV series, which sees her renovate her 10-acre, 19-room property in Horsham.

Last year, she was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence and 100 hours of unpaid work after her drink-driving crash on the B2135 near Partridge Green.

She was also disqualified from driving for two years.

The documentary series explores the events that led up to the crash and the consequences of her actions.

Last month, Katie appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain to discuss the “really traumatic” events leading up to the crash.

She said: “I’ve made the decision, finally, to see a therapist every week forever to deal with the traumatic events that led me up into that car.

“I feel ashamed about it. But it’s a new year and I’m still dealing with it all. I think people shouldn’t judge people. There are always reasons for reasons.

“It’s still been traumatic afterwards, so I’m not ready to talk about it yet. But what I can say is, obviously I went to The Priory.

“There’s reasons why I got into that car and my mental state.”

Ofcom revealed it received 53 complaints about the interview.
