A TEENAGER who enjoyed a trip to Sussex with her new boyfriend was later stabbed to death days before she was due to return home to Canada.

Ashley Wadsworth had flown to the UK to meet her new partner Jack Sepple, 23, in November last year.

The pair visited a number of tourist hotspots including a trip to Rye with his family.

But the 19-year-old was found dead at a block of flats on Tuesday after concerned neighbours called.

Sepple has since been charged with her murder.

Ashley was due to return to Canada later this week.

Friends of Ashley have taken to social media to share tributes to the teenager.

Larissa Kontos described Ashley as a "beautiful loving soul" in a tribute on Facebook.

"She had a ticket for this Thursday to come back home to people who love her dearly," Larissa wrote on Facebook last night,” she said.

"You will never be forgotten my girly. And I'll miss you so much,"

Ashley's aunt Rosie Turcotte wrote on Facebook: "I am so angry, sad and f ***** mad.

"Want to say so much right now, but mama always said if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

“Another special angel gone way too soon."

Essex Police have not officially confirmed Ashley Wadsworth's identity.

DCI Scott Egerton, of the major investigation team, said their initial enquiries show the killing to be an isolated incident with "no wider risk to the community."

“We have a team of dedicated officers working around the clock to establish the circumstances which led to a woman losing her life,” he said.

“The investigation is progressing well, but we will remain on scene for a few more days whilst we continue to gather evidence and establish the facts."

Sepple, of Tennyson Road, Chelmsford, is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
