OWNERS of the “world’s most famous dog” say her latest role in a hit comedy series has “captured her personality perfectly”.
Ashley Foster is the proud owner of Antilly, the German Shepherd who plays Brandy in Ricky Gervais's Netflix series After Life.
The hit Netflix comedy follows Tony Johnson, played by Ricky, as he comes to terms with the death of his wife from cancer.
Brandy supports Tony through grief, and Ashley has reflected on his pet’s “tear-jerking” performance in a love letter published by Brighton-based grooming business Bone Idol.

He said: "It is one of the few roles in her career where she isn’t playing a scary or dangerous dog, instead putting in a truly tear-jerking performance as Brandy.
"If you want to see what she’s really like in her normal day to day life, After Life captures her personality perfectly."
Antilly was born in Hereford to Ashley’s parents' dogs, before moving to Bicester, Oxfordshire.
Ashley said his pet soon began competing in the dog sport IGP (Internationale Gebrauchshund Pruefung), which tests obedience, agility and commands.
As a puppy, visited the set of The Dark Knight Rises at just ten weeks old when her parents and owner Ashley starred in the film.
After a few more IGP qualifications, Antilly followed in her parents' footsteps and signed for the agency Stunt Dogs and Animals.
Often typecast as a police dog or guard dog, she has featured in Midsomer Murders, Doc Martin and 2016 film Denial, starring Rachel Weisz and Timothy Spall, among others.
Bone Idol co-founder Scott Learmouth said the Love Letters series allows owners to share their thoughts and feeling about their pets with other animal lovers.
He said: "At Bone Idol we love speaking to people about their dogs, and there are always so many unique and heart-felt stories.
“This is what gave us the idea for Love Letters, and a big thank you to Antilly for becoming our latest star.
