A HOTEL chain has been crowned the best in the UK by Which.

Hotel du Vin, with 19 sites across the country, including one in Brighton, was ranked the best small hotel chain by customers.

Based on an online survey of 2,603 Which members and the public in October 2021, Hotel du Vin finished at the top of the table out of 30.

Scoring five out of five stars for its cleanliness and bathrooms, Hotel du Vin impressed customers in these categories.

At £150 per night on average though, your stay won’t come cheap, hence the chain’s three star value for money score.

Every other category however received four stars, including in beds and rooms.

The chain received a customer score of 80 per cent, which combines overall satisfaction and likelihood of recommending.

The Brighton location, in Ship Street, is a 1920s Mock Tudor building – referring to the fact an inn has stood on the seafront here since the 1600s.

This is typical of Hotel du Vin venues, with 19 that are a little different, such as an old sugar warehouse, a Georgian brewery, or a glamorous mansion on the edge of Wimbledon Common.

The Argus: Hotel du Vin Named Best UK Hotel Chain of the Year

All 49 rooms in the Brighton site were refurbished last year with individual themes and come with plasma TVs and air conditioning.

Customers can choose from a classic double, a deluxe room or a range of suites.

The latter includes the Sea View Suites, which offer two roll-top baths, a Nespresso machine and even a telescope.

Following Hotel du Vin was Warner Leisure with 75 per cent, Abode with 73 per cent and Young's Hotels also with 73 per cent.
