MIXOLOGISTS at two venues are celebrating success after they were included in the UK’s Top 50 list of cocktail bars.
Gung-Ho, in Preston Street, came in at number 33, while L’Atelier Du Vin, Seven Dials, took number 47.
Julien Barnett, manager at Gung-Ho, said: “I must admit I’m completely ecstatic to not only be in the Top 50, but to attain number 33 out of the whole UK, especially with the sheer amount of amazing bars that are around these days.
“It’s amazing to also see more bars out of London winning these awards.”
The Top 50 Cocktail Bar list is created by online hospitality trade publication the Morning Advertiser.
“It has been a great week of celebrations,” Julien added. “And it comes on the year where we are working to expand our offering and really give it our all…”
The Morning Advertiser collects votes using their academy of industry experts from around the UK. The list is based on written recommendations.
Following the votes, finalists are chosen. An ambassador for the Morning Advertiser visits the finalists before deciding on their position in the list.
Gung-Ho is “Brighton’s only sustainable bar” and use “locally-foraged ingredients” when creating “intelligent flavour pairings to make drinks of distinction.”

Meanwhile, L’Atelier Du Vin said of their spot on the list: “We’re very grateful and happy. It’s nice to be recognised and be part of it.”
It comes as the L’Atelier Du Vin prepares to open its wine bar, Cases, in Worthing this Friday.
