A MAN has been arrested for assault after an altercation at an airport.

Police were to the incident at Gatwick Airport at 1am on Tuesday, February 15, following reports of an altercation.

A man was subsequently arrested for common assault.

Gatwick Police said he will be interviewed and processed.

It comes after a man was arrested at Gatwick Airport On Sunday while trying to "flee" following a serious assault involving weapons.

Police said the incident took place in another part of the country.

It is not known where the serious assault occurred, or how many people were involved.

Prior to the pandemic, Gatwick Airport, in Crawley, saw an average of over 127,000 passengers a day pass through its doors.

On Sunday, around 60,000 passengers passed through the airport, according to Gatwick Police.
